Add this person to the list of “People I Would Like to be as Eloquent as”

For those who were interested in #Coverflip and feminism/books, the link is to a post made by tumblrite and fanfiction writer Madlori, who is just brilliant. In it, she discusses female characters in media/literature, particularly the issue of “strong” female characters. There’s a growing trend of writers who, in response to allegations of just writing one dimensional sex object women, now write sexy, strong women who can look attractive while cutting off some poor soul’s head. Just a clarification for those not entirely familiar: the characters Madlori references are from the television showย BBC Sherlock: Molly Hooper is the mortician featured in both seasons, and “Irene” is Irene Adler, who was featured in Season 2 Episode 1 “A Scandal in Belgravia.” There are spoilers. And really: if you haven’t seen BBC Sherlock you really, really should.
